About Devi Sanford

For as long as I can remember all I wanted to do was take photographs. I was 5 years old the first time I remember using a camera on my own. It was a shot of my Aunt at the Grand Canyon. I could hardly wait for the film to be developed. My mom handed me the photograph and told me I would make a fine photographer one day. I am confident “one day” was the key word in that sentence. It was a perfect picture of my Aunt from her chin, down.

A native of California, I graduated from Fresno State in 1988 with a Bachelors Degree in Photography. After working for a Corporate Photographer in the Bay Area, I started my own photography business, including the division of “Pets and their People” in San Francisco.  In 1995 I moved to New York City. I worked at the studios of world renowned photographers Annie Leibovitz’s  and Joel Meyerowitz.  I shot for MTV until moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 1998.

From 2020 to 2023 I was the resident photographer for Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary in Mt Juliet, Tennessee.  I now exclusively focus on photographing animals while promoting rescues and foster programs.

My past and present clientele includes Norwegian Cruise Lines, Sesame Street Productions, Gray Advertising, The North Face, LPGA, Graphic Solutions, Little Hollywood Productions, MTV, Interspace Airport Advertising, Clear Channel Airports, Nashville International Airport, Corey Media, The Clay Lady's Campus, L and L Contractors, Higgins, NoSleepforSheep, Infosec, and Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary.

Smile! Even when the camera is off!
